this tour will bring you face to face with sites and episodes, both familiar and less well-known, from the history of national socialism. on this walking tour you will encounter the ruins of the gestapo cellar, the nazi state's power center on wilhelmstrasse, the holocaust memorial and the synagogue on oranienburger strasse destroyed in 1938 and reconstructed only some fifty years later.   

there are different places in berlin that visibly manifest the overwhelming imprint of germany's criminal past. you will have the chance to visit some of these sites on this tour, while in other cases you will only be able to hear about them. should you be interested in an historical overview of the nazi period, unwrapping history recommends that you sign up for the basic tour on national socialism.

meeting place and length of tour: the meeting place for this tour is the exit at the rapid transit (s-bahn) station anhalter bahnhof on stresemannstrasse. the tour last approximately 2 1/2 hours.
